In the footsteps of Saint Michael Garicoïts, Founder
Betharram - Since last Thursday 29 June, seventeen young religious have been living a meaningful experience in the footsteps of St. Michael Garicoïts, our Founder, in the 30-day International Session. They all come from the three Regions.

Visit to Payao and Phanaseree
June 18 - Fr Gustavo and Fr Enrico visited the Bishop of Chiang Rai, Mons Joseph Vhuthilert. The diocese of Chiang Rai was created recently, and the Bishop illustrated his pastoral task and the precious work done by the Betharramite community in his diocese. It was also an opportunity to thank him for accepting to ordain our two deacons on June 25 in the cathedral of Chiang Mai.

The English Vicariate celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at Droitwich
On 24th June 2022, English Vicariate celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus at Droitwich. Fr George Mathew SCJ, Superior of the community welcomed companions of Betharram, guests and parishioners at the beginning of the celebration.

Visit to the Sacred Heart Parish, Huayrai
June 17 - Fr. Gustavo and Fr Enrico, continuing their visit to the vicariate of Thailand, reached the Sacred Heart Church (Huayrai) in one of the villages ministered by the center of Ban Pong.

Visit to the communities of Fang, Huay Bong and Muangnam
June 16 - Fr. Gustavo, Fr Enrico and Fr Chan, always accompanied by the expert driver Brother Pichet, began the visit of the other communities of the Vicariate of Thailand.

Visit to the nuns founded by Mons Lucien Lacoste
June 13 - Fr Gustavo, Fr Enrico and Fr Chan had a meeting with the superior general of the Missionaries of the Immaculate Conception in Chom Thong.

Visit to the community of Chom Thong - Khun Pae
June 13 - Fr Enrico, Fr Gustavo and Fr Chan reached the Betharramite parish of Khun Pai. Upon their arrival they were greeted by members of the group, “The Legion of Mary” who during a brief meeting asked many questions about the presence of Betharram in Thailand, concluding that the visit of the superior general makes them feel part of the Betharramite family.

Br. Jean-Claude Djiraud SCJ instituted Acolyte
Adiapodoumé 13 June, memory of Saint Anthony of Padua. During the Eucharistic Celebration, presided by Fr. Jean Luc Morin SCJ, Regional Superior, Br. Jean-Claude Djiraud SCJ was instituted Acolyte.

Visit to the Maepon community
12 June - Fr Gustavo and Fr Enrico, accompanied by Fr Chan and Br Pichet (very careful driver) reached the Center of Maepon, where the Betharramite community and the boys and girls of the center reserved a warm welcome to the visitors.

Visit to Parish of Huay Tong
11 June - Fr Gustavo and Fr Enrico, accompanied by Fr Chan and Br Pichet, left Chiang Mai for a three-day trip that took them to visit the Betharramite communities in the Chiang Mai area.

The Superior General visits the Episcopal Vicar for the Religious Life of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City
8 June - Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ, Superior General, Fr Enrico Frigerio SCJ, Regional Superior and Fr Chan Kunu SCJ, Regional Vicar in Thailand, paid a courtesy call to Fr Joseph Tran Hoa Húng SDB, Episcopal Vicar for the Religious Life in the diocese of Ho Chi Minh City.

Betharram celebrates the baptism and the first communion of the students of the College
On Sunday, June 12, the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, the students of the "Beautiful Branch" school received the sacraments of baptism and First Communion during a solemn ceremony that took place in the Shrine of Our Lady of Betharram.

Platinum Jubilee Celebration
On 5th of June 2022, SCJ Community of Nottingham along with parishioners Celebrated to mark the 70th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II.

R.I.P.
Today, Monday 13 June, Fr José Rovegno SCJ has made his final "Here I am” and went back to the Lord. Fr José was 90 years of age and 72 years of religious life. He was a member of the community of “San Juan Bautista” of Buenos Aires (Vicariate of Argentina and Uruguay).

Courtesy call to the Bishop of Chiang Mai
During the canonical visit to the Vicariate of Thailand, Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ, the Superior General, Fr Enrico Frigerio SCJ, Regional Superior and Fr Chan Kunu SCJ, Vicar in Thailand, payed a courtesy call to the Bishop of Chiang Mai Mgr Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana.

Devotion to Mary for the month of May
Nottingham, June 8 - During the Month of May we SCJ community parish community, and Parish Primary schools, Blessed Robert Widmerpool and St Patrick’s promoted devotion to Our Lady, importance of family prayer and recitation of the Holy Rosary for the intention of Peace in our world especially in Russia and Ukraine and in our families.

Canonical visit of the Superior General to Thailand
On 3 June, the Superior General, Fr. Gustavo Agin SCJ and the Regional Superior, Fr. Enrico Frigerio SCJ, with Fr. John Chan Kunu SCJ, Regional Vicar in Thailand were welcomed into the formation community of Sampran (Thailand) by Fr Luke Kriangsak Kitsakulwong SCJ, Superior of the community and Master of Scholastics, by Fr Andrew Manop Kangkeaw SCJ and the whole community.

In memoriam...
On 31 May, in Chu d’Angré (Ivory Coast), Mr Angui Daniel, father of Fr Marius Angui SCJ (Superior of the community of Dabakala - Ivory Coast) has died. He was 82 years old.

May 14 feast of St. Michael Garicoïts in Adiapodoumé
On the occasion of the feast of our founding father St. Michael Garicoïts, the community of the formation house of Adiopodoumé wanted to associate this year with another annual event, the day of families.

Severe flooding in North-East India
North East of India particularly the State called ASSAM has a heavy rain on these days and it is severely affected with flood. There are three Betharramite communities. But, by God's grace, our communities are safe.

Feast of St. Michael Garikoits in Mendelu
The Mendelu community celebrated the feast of St. Michael Garikoits, patron saint of the parish on Sunday, May 15, during the parish Eucharistic celebration.

The English Vicariate in assembly
On 9th May to 11th May 2022, The English Vicariate members gathered together at Shallowford Retreat House in Stone, UK for our second meeting of preparation for the 2023 General chapter by reflecting the theme of Listening which continued from the First preparatory meeting in last February.

May, 14 - On the auspicious day of Our Founder St. Michael Garicoits, in the community of Shobhana Shaakha, 3 of our Brothers namely Br Sagayaraj Avinash SCJ, Br Packiaraj Kurush SCJ e Br Pobitro Minj SCJ made their final commitment and 2 novices Br Immanuel Budu SCJ and Br David A. SCJ made their first profession.

The Vicariate of Thailand in feast
On Thursday 12 May, in the chapel of the community of Ban Betharram, Chiang Mai, the religious of the Vicariate of Thailand concelebrated the Eucharist, during which Br. Nicholas Surasak SCJ renewed his vows in the hands of Fr. John Chan Kunu SCJ, Regional Vicar in Thailand who presided over the celebration.

Celebrations in honor of Saint Michael Garicoïts
The solemnity of St. Michael Garicoïts, our Founder, was celebrated on Saturday 14 May in Betharram during a beautiful meeting with the laity of the Fraternity and with all those who collaborated in our mission, in particular the laity who came from Pibrac, from Pau. and from Betharram.
