General Assembly of the “Les Amis des Sanctuaries” Association
The "Amis des Sanctuaries" Association held its general assembly on Saturday, March 26, in Betharram. The Association is made up of 4 Betharramite religious and 30 lay people. The president is Fr. Laurent Bacho SCJ (Regional Vicar in France-Spain).
Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord in Betharram
The "Notre Dame" community of Betharram celebrated the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord in the Sanctuary, the principle and foundation of our Betharramite consecration, mystical of the Incarnation.
Feast day of St. Patrick in Nottingham
On 17th of March, SCJ community along with Parishioners at Our Lady and St Patrick’s, Meadows celebrated the Feast day of St. Patrick. The Civic dignitaries were invited to the feast. The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor David Trimble and The Sheriff of Nottingham Councillor Merlita Bryan were present.
In Barracas, for 6 years the poor have been welcome
Last Tuesday, March 8, in the Betharramite Parish of the "Sacred Heart" of Barracas, the 6th anniversary of the "Duchas del Sagrado" (the "Showers of the Sacred Heart”) was celebrated.

On March 19, in Buenos Aires (Argentine), at the age of 78 years, Mrs Marta María Tavcar de Ramos, mother of Fr Gerardo Daniel Ramos SCJ, of the community of “San Juan Bautista” of Buenos Aires (Vicariate of Argentina and Uruguay), returned to the Father’s House.

On March 14, Mr Eurinus Maupauhae Khiriwathanasakun, father of Fr Suthon Khiriwathanasakun SCJ, Superior of the community of Playa (Vicariate of Thailand) has died this morning. He had contracted the Covid-19.

Inauguration of a Retreat House in Barracas
After much effort, the Barracas community has inaugurated spaces for a new spirituality center and a retreat house, at the ground floor of the structures of the community.

On 21st and 22nd February 2022, Members of the English Vicariate gathered together at Shallowford Retreat House in Stone for the first theme of ‘Meet Each Other’ towards to the General Chapter 2023, by focusing on Pope Francis’s words Listening, Encounter and Discern taken from his homily on 10 October 2021.

On Sunday 20 February, the meetings of the young Betharramite laity resumed via videoconference. The Betharramici of Tuscany met with the young people of the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Lissone.

Feast of Consecrated Life
On February 2, the liturgy celebrated the Fest of the Presentation of Jesus in the temple of Jerusalem by Mary and Joseph: “they offered him to the Lord." This same date was chosen by the Catholic Church to celebrate the Consecrated Life. Therefore, the community of Adiapodoumé, accompanied by some parishioners who had come for the occasion, celebrated this feast with joy and gratitude.
Annual Spiritual Exercises for the religious of the Vicariate of Brazil
From the evening of January 23 (Sunday) until noon on January 29 (Saturday), the annual Spiritual Retreat of the Betharramite Vicariate in Brazil took place in Passa Quatro.

The community of the Betharramite Formation House in Mangalore celebrated the thanksgiving mass of our newly ordained priest Fr. Akhil Joseph scj on January 28th. The celebration began with a thanksgiving Eucharist presided over by Fr. Akhil Joseph himself.
Meeting of the Religious of the Vicariate of Argentina and Uruguay
From January 24th to 28th, in the stillness and beauty of the mountains of Cordoba, the traditional Meeting of Religious of the Vicariate of Argentina and Uruguay took place. They lived these days of prayer and rest, reflecting on synodality, poverty, the projects for 2022, the echoes and resonances of the canonical visit of Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ, Superior General.
A beautiful story of missionary audacity of a hundred years ago...
January 23, 2022 - Betharram. Fr Reegan Vincent Raj SCJ concluded the Sunday Eucharistic celebration at the Shrine with the presentation of some photos of the three missionaries and with the comment of Fr. Pierre Fernessolle SCJ who had delivered the homily on January 22, 1922 the day before the departure of the three Betharramites for China.
