Notices from the General Council

In the meeting of the General Council held on 10 June 2015, the Superior General, with the consent of his Council, granted to Fr Joachim Viravit Sasai an indult of exclaustration for three years in the diocese of Ubonratchathani (Thailand) .

In the meeting of the General Council held on 17 June 2015:

• the Superior General, with the consent of his Council, decided to present to the ministry of priesthood Bros Daniel Jude Vijay and Sathish Paul Raj (Indian Vicariate, Region St Mary of Jesus Crucified);
• the Superior General, with the advice of his Council, has approved the closure of the community of Milan - Saint Ilario (Vicariate of Italy, Region St Michael Garicoits) and the restitution of the parish to the archdiocese of Milan;
• the Superior General, with the advice of his Council, has approved the closure of the community of Zarka (Jordan, Vicariate of Holy Land, Region Saint Michael Garicoits) and the restitution of the parish to the Latin Patrirchate of Jerusalem.

In the extraordinary meeting of the General Council on 10 July 2015, the Superior General, with the advice of his Council, approved the appointment of fr Biju Panthalukkaran as novice Master and of Fr Stervin Selvadass as Master of the Scholastics for the Indian Vicariate and approved the appointment of Fr Stervin Selvadass as Superior of the community of Mangalore (Region St Mary of Jesus Crucified).

On 26 June last, the Superior General addressed to all the betharramite religious and laity, via the regional Superiors, a letter on the project of a new foundation in Vietnam. Let’s be united in prayer that the decision of the General Chapter 2011 may be carried out soon.
