Fr. Akhil Joseph Thykkuttathil SCJ was ordained priest on 17th January 2022 by H. E. Mgr James Raphael Anaparambil, Bishop of Alleppey, at Our Lady of Health Church, Saude, in Kochi.

Despite being struck by and hindered in its activities by the Covid-19 pandemic; despite being shocked by the death of Mrs. Henriette N’Guessan (a recently deceased Betharramite laywoman); despite being worried about and affected by the recent post-electoral crises (in the Ivory Coast), the fraternity of the Betharramite lay associates, with their gaze turned firmly to the Lord, have finally restarted their meetings and relaunched their activities on the 12th December in the community of Adiapodoumé.

April 13 - On the anniversary of the death of our patron Ven. Fr. Auguste Etchecopar, the Region, which bears his name, inaugurated a new communication tool.

On July 9, in the Betharramite parish of the Sacred Heart in Ciudad del Este, Br. Sergio Leiva SCJ was ordained a priest by the laying on of hands of the Rt Rev Mgr. Heinz Wilhelm Steckling, O.M.I., Bishop of Ciudad del Este.

Betharram - Thursday 20 October: second day of the Regional Chapter. The presentation of the Vicariates continued with the Vicariate of the Holy Land, followed by the report of the Vicariate of the Ivory Coast. The celebration of the Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Piero Trameri scj (Regional Vicar in Italy) and took place in the chapel of St. Michael Garicoïts.

On Tuesday 14 May, the "FVD" Group of Asunción (Paraguay) celebrated the feast of Saint Michael Garicoïts, and they did so first by participating in the Eucharistic Table at the San José Parish, then with a simple dinner of fraternal sharing in the spaces of the College.

On 24th September 2022, English Vicariate organised Annual Sponsored Walk for Mission at Nottingham.

17 March - In Nottingham, celebrations began early this morning at Our Lady & St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Meadows, where Parish Priest Father Wilfred Pereppadan SCJ welcomed Bishop Patrick McKinney, Bishop of Nottingham who celebrated Mass in honour of the fifth-century saint! Four Betharram Fathers joined the concelebration, Frs Wilfred, Athit, Pitak and Enrico. Br John and br Andrew were also present.
