The Regional Council of Saint Michael Garicoïts Region, meets in Monte Porzio Catone
From November 3 to 13, the Betharramite community of Monte Porzio Catone welcomed the members of the Regional Council gathered for a plenary session.
For the Betharramite community of Monte Porzio, it was a precious opportunity for encounter, dialogue, and sharing of their mission, lived daily in service to the most vulnerable and to the entrusted pastoral communities.
The Council’s work began on Tuesday, November 4, with a reflection given by Father Albert Kabala, General Councillor of the Marist Fathers, on the theme of the Letter to the Romans (Romans 5:3–5):
“… boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.”
On Sunday, November 9, the members of the Council experienced a particularly meaningful moment as they made a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, during this Jubilee Year of Hope.
Afterwards, the participants shared lunch with the community of the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles and the members of the Generalate.
The Regional Council expressed sincere gratitude for the spirit of fraternity experienced during their stay and for the warm welcome shown by all the religious and guests of the community.
