New mission for the Betharramite community in the Diocese of Serrinha (Brazil)
On 30 July, the Betharramite community on a mission in the diocese of Serrinha (Bahia, Brazil), left the "Good Shepherd" parish to take on the mission of the parish of "Nossa Senhora da Conceição" which is composed of two municipalities (Gavião and Nova Fátima) and a district (Pereira).
Altogether there are thirty communities. The religious community, composed of Fr. Gilberto Ortellado Maldonado SCJ, Fr. Iran Lima da Silva SCJ and two aspirants (João Francisco Silva de Jesus and Ademir dos Santos Santana) already resides in Nova Fátima, in a very large house, a structure used in the past as a pastoral center and now converted into a residence.
Sunday 2 August, Fr. Paulo César Pinto SCJ, Regional Vicar in Brazil, delegated by the diocesan Bishop Mgr. Ottorino Assolari CSF, will install the priests in the new parish.
The entire Betharramite Vicariate in Brazil follows this new stage with joy and profound gratitude.
As the commitment to the Mission grows, the "Master of the harvest" blesses us with new vocations...
