New Governing Body of the "AMICI di Betharram - ONLUS" Association
On Sunday 13 September, the ordinary assembly of the members of the missionary association “AMICI di Betharram - Onlus” (founded in 2013 as a continuation of the Missionary Center of the then Italian Province) took place in the "Madonna del Bel Ramo" community in Albiate (Italy). During the meeting the members elected the new Governing Council that will lead the association for the next three years.
Mr. Giovanni Fossati was elected president of the association. He will be assisted by Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ (community of Pistoia), by Mr. Roberto Corno and Mr. Giampaolo Dassi of the "Sacred Heart" parish of Lissone, and Mr. Maurizio Garreffa.
Mr. Fossati has been visiting the communities in the Central African Republic numerous times over the past 25 years, working to complete quite a few projects, and recently the “surgical unit” at the Niem Dispensary.
Fr. Piero Trameri SCJ, the outgoing president, at the end of his report expressed his gratitude to all those who have collaborated in recent years, wishing a good journey to all the members present by repeating the words of the Founder Saint Michael Garicoïts: "Always forward!".
