10 October - The Betharramite community of Chomtong organized an event to celebrate the encyclical “Laudato si’ ”.
This event involved 5 Betharramite fathers: Fr. Tidkham Jailertrit SCJ, Fr. Arun Kano SCJ, Fr. Mongkhon Charoentham SCJ, Fr. Jiraphat Raksikhao SCJ and Fr. John Bosco Sommai Sopa-Opaad SCJ; 20 girls from the centre “Mission of Love”; 40 young people in formation from the Daughters of Charity, 20 boys from the Maepon Center and 15 parishioners from different villages.
Fathers Jiraphat and Mongkhon illustrated the meaning of the encyclical “Laudato si’” to those who were present, who later planted 570 banana shoots on the Foundation's land.
This event aroused great interest and offered an opportunity to emphasise the interest for “the care for our common home”.
