Feast of the Sacred Heart in Betharram
The feast of the Sacred Heart was celebrated in Betharram in the afternoon and evening of June 28th. First of all, Fr. Laurent Bacho scj (Regional Vicar in France and Spain), gave a talk on the virtues of the Heart of Jesus, "love, humility and meekness".
The reflection continued during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with appropriate hymns. The vespers were led by the Small Choir “St Michael Garicoïts”, which also animated the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the Superior General Fr. Gustavo Agín scj. Fr. Jean-Luc Morin scj (Regional Superior) gave a passionate homily based on the parable of the Good Shepherd. A bag lunch followed and people could easily interact with each other.
Then a prayer in music led by the Small Choir "St Michael Garicoïts" helped the people present to experience God’s love before the torchlit procession in the courtyard of the monastery.
This prayer session ended with the hymn "Salve Regina" flowing from “harts expanded by a holy joy” as our Founder would say.
