The field experience of a group of young people of the Region of St. Michael Garicoïts in Côte d'Ivoire has come to an end.
The Vicariate of the Ivory Coas opened the doors of its communities to young people coming from Italy, France and Ivory Coast who had a missionary and work experience from July 31st to August 15th.
Accompanied by Br. Emile Garat SCJ (Vicariate of France and Spain) and Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ (Vicariate of Italy) they had a first hand experience of the Betharram mission in the country thanks to Fr. Théophile Dégni N'Guessan SCJ, Regional Vicar in Ivory Coast. They paid a visit to the communities of Adiapodoumé, Yamoussoukro and Dabakala and met the young people there, with the help of Fr. Marius Angui SCJ, Br. N'Dah Kadjo Arnaud SCJ and Br. Alfred Nandjui SCJ.
For a week they were busy at the "Jean Marie Vianney" College in Katiola, which has just re-opened its doors after almost 20 years: here they refurbished the infirmary of the school, they cleaned the playgrounds, they prepared the chapel and did other odd jobs.
At the end of the experience they expressed their gratitude to their leaders, to those who welcomed them and helped them live this experience.
