Working to build fraternity ...
From August 8th to 13th, in the Betharramite community of Mendelu (Spain), a camp was attended by young people from France, Italy and Ivory Coast. In a climate of true fraternity, young people have been involved in the preparation of next year's camp in Katiola, Ivory Coast.
Eight young people were accompanied by Br. Emile Garat SCJ, Fr. Marius Angui SCJ, Fr. Davi Lara SCJ and Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ. They gathered in Pau on the morning of August 8 and together they reached the community of Mendelu.
The mornings were devoted to the reflection on the charism of St. Michael, the mission today, the reality of Ivory Coast (difficulties and strengths of a multicultural nation), solidarity and the preparation of information material for the camp (videos, brochures, 2018 program, info on Katiola…).
The afternoons were dedicated for visiting various places: Fuenterrabia, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pamplona and Saturday the day at the beach. Young people have overcome with excitement the rift of language difference and have enjoyed the joy of being together by sharing cooking and home cleaning services, learning how to be responsible for each of the good success of the camp and the good climate of collaboration that animates true fraternity, a great starting point for continuing the path to the Katiola Camp 2018.
