Say it with flowers
February, 5 - At the Friary, Olton Solihull, a Flower Festival was held from Friday the 5 February through to Sunday evening the 7 February. The event was for the closing of the Year of Consecrated Life and the start of the Holy Year of Mercy. The celebrations were a great success thanks the organisation of the Parish Flower Team, the sponsors, local schools and other groups.
The displays showed among the many themes: the Jesus Calling His first disciples and continues to do so today, the Consecrated Life, Marriage, and the service to others in many ways. The Holy Year of Mercy was shown by Jesus healing the Leper with a plant of “Mother-in law’s tongue” disfigured with red spheres and cured by a great vase of beautiful roses.
