Missionary exhibition in the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Lissone (Italy)

Lissone December 16 - While in Central African Republic an uncontrollable and violent was is tearing the country to pieces, in Lissone this story is told in detail. The traditional exhibition set up in the Parish of the Sacred Heart to illustrate the African conflict, has just come to an end.

The first hand testimonies of the fathers Tiziano and Beniamino, and the sisters Rita and Morena, supported by pictures and video presentations, talk about guerrilla warfare and widespread fear that push families to leave their homes. Between the lines appear the kalashnikovs of the Seleka (mercenaries hired by the current president and now running wild), you can hear the gunshots in the night and you can see rows of migrant people with bundles on their heads. It is no coincidence, "Life in a bundle" is the title of the exhibition, which is the symbol of this violence that forces people to save only a few things needed to survive. The idea of involving the children of the nearby primary school was a great success: all literally put themselves in the shoes of the children of Central African Republic. During the visit, everyone felt a gun (pop-gun!) trained on the nose; each one chose four essential things to escape, drew his impressions on a paper, pegged them on the wall and eventually gave a T-shirt to a Central African child who had to leave his own behind, while running away. All visitors were given a small bundle to remind them of those who are fleeing, but also to remind them of the missionaries who, on the contrary, remain on the spot.
