Entrance of Fr Angelo Riva scj in the Parish of St. Andrea in Antognano in Parma
Saturday, September 21, Fr Angelo Riva SCJ took possession of the parish of St. Andrew the Apostle in Antognano, Parma.
The rite took place during the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Mons Enrico Solmi, bishop of the diocese of Parma. Fr Aldo Nespoli, the Regional Vicar for Italy and Frs Angelo Bianchi and Gianluca Limonta, members of the community, were also present.
The Bishop, in front of a good number of parishioners, read out a letter to Fr Angelo: "My first thought full of gratitude goes to you and to your congregation for the readiness to be here among us, in Parma; your presence is the answer to the incessant appeals of this poor Bishop; the "Ecce Venio" still resonates on the lips and in the generous heart of a son of the revered father Garicoïts, your founder. We thank God for this new beautiful branch grafted into the tree of our diocese, which is going through the delicate phase of moving towards a new organization, to remain faithful to the Lord's command."
We join Mons Solmi in praying Mary, Mother of the Church, to shower many blessings onto Fr Angelo and his community.
