Ivory Coast - Adiapodoumé
Here are some news from our brothers in Ivory Coast, taken from an email sent by our House of Formation:
"Security is not fully ensured, but considered the progress in 15 days, we hope to go in the right direction. Certainly, the gendarmerie and the police have not yet been deployed as agreed. And then, pick-ups, each filled with a dozen of young people with guns, dont inspire confidence. But the very fact of being able to cross Abobo (Abidjan district) is already a good sign.
In St. Bernard Parish, on April 28-29, the humanitarian organisations came along promising to help. Since four weeks the Betharramite Religious have been assisting people alone, and they dont want the parish to become a refugee camp. The NGOs have made contact with the displaced people to know why they are reluctant to return to their homes and quarters. This approach is considered good and respectful by our Fathers, who rely on your prayers for reconciliation and reconstruction in the country."
