Bethlehem - General Chapter

In the afternoon of the 19th of May, we had a presentation on the lay Betharramite, and the financial statement of the congregation these two points were the focus of the afternoon session of the General Chapter.

In the wake of the Superior Generals report in the morning, Fr Enrico Frigerio drew attention to the participants of the resolutions of the last Chapter of 2005, which requested the General Council to produce a brief collection of spiritual elements to lay associates. After presenting the work of the last six years as the general counselor in charge of the case.
In the second part of the afternoon Fr Jean-Luc Morin presented the report prepared by the General Bursars Office: this was a good example of collaboration between religious-laity since such a record would have been unthinkable in the past, but today unthinkable without the skill and dedication of many lay people, specially Ms. Mariagrazia Cavazzini, Accountant General of the Generalate House (and his son Paolo, computer expert, Mr. Luigi Pirovano, economic consultant of the Congregation, and his assistant Ms Elisa Sala). This exercise in transparency, and the debate that followed, helped to make the point and stay on track to achieve a real "economy of communion ".
