Religious in community

Gathered usually in small communities of three or four members, the Religious of Betharram exist first and foremost to try to fulfil the ideals of a fraternal life in prayer and sharing. We are "active religious", undertaking a wide range of activities to help further the mission of the Church and the Kingdom of God.

Religious

Gathered usually in small communities of three or four members, the Religious of Betharram exist first and foremost to try to fulfil the ideals of a fraternal life in prayer and sharing. We are "active religious", undertaking a wide range of activities to help further the mission of the Church and the Kingdom of God.

The settlement in the 14 countries where we are present took place as a response to appeals from local Churches, but it was also due to historical circumstances such as the expulsion or Religious from France in 1905.

Today our communities are in:

  • Europe: 7 communities in France; 14 in Italy; 4 in Great Britain; 1 in Spain.
  • Latin America: 6 communities in Argentina and Uruguay; 6 in Brazil; 6 in Paraguay.
  • Africa: 3 communities in the Ivory Coast; 1 in the Central African Republic.
  • Asia: 3 communities in the Holy Land (Israel, Palestine, Jordan), 6 in Thailand and 2 in India.
