A celebration for the World Day of Consecrated Life in Chiang Mai
On February 3, 2024, a celebration for the World Day of Consecrated Life was organised by the Betharram religious, in collaboration with Religious from the Diocese of Chiangmai.
Meeting of the Betharramite Formation Team
From 29 January to 3 February the Betharramite Formation Team gathered in Rome. Were present: Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ, Superior General, Fr. Jean-Dominique Delgue SCJ, Vicar General, Fr. Gaspar Fernández Perez SCJ, Fr. Luke Kriangsak Kitsakunwong SCJ and Fr. Osmar Caceres Spaini SCJ; Fr. Stervin Selvadass SCJ, General Councillor for Formation, Fr. Jean-Paul Kissi SCJ and Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ joined the meeting by teleconference.
Priestly ordination of Br. Pobitro Minj SCJ
The 28th of January was a day full of joy for the Vicariate of India. In fact, the Vicariate gathered around Fr. Pobitro Minj SCJ, on the day he was ordained a priest, and the first Betharramite priest hailing from Assam.
Ceremony of establishment of the Ministries of Acolyte and Lector in the community of Adiopodoumé
On Saturday 27 January, the community of Adiopodoumé celebrated, during the morning Eucharistic celebration, the institution as acolytes and lectors several brothers.
Moments of life in the formation house of Mangalore (India)
On the 22nd of January 2024, the Betharram Formation House in Mangalore experienced three significant events:
First in-person meeting of the Regional Council
From January 19th to 21st, 2024, the St. Miriam Region's Regional Council convened at Shobhana Shaakha in Bangalore, India, marking their first in-person meeting since the recent office appointments. The session started off with Fr. Jean-Dominique Deluge SCJ, our Vicar General, lighting the lamp. Followed by Fr. Wilfred Pereppadan SCJ, the Regional Superior, initiated the council with a reflective narration using the Narratio Fidei method, focusing on the first chapter of the Acts of the General Chapter 2023.
In memoriam...
On January 25, Mr. Pierre Dantiacq, aged 83, brother-in-law of Fr Jean-Marie Ruspil SCJ (Regional Vicar in France and Spain) and Fr Joseph Ruspil (of the community of Saint-Palais (Vicariate of France and Spain) died.
A special meeting
On 21 January, Fr. Mathew Phanupan SCJ, ordained priest last June during the General Chapter, paid a visit to the study house of Sampran.
Canonical visit of the Regional Superior
Since January 9, Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ, Regional Superior of the St. Michael Garicoïts Region, has been making his first canonical visit to the Vicariate of the Ivory Coast.
Priestly ordination of Br. Stephen R. SCJ
On 18 January at the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier, in Bangalore, Br. Stephen R. SCJ was ordained a priest during a solemn concelebration presided over by Mgr. Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator of the diocese of Mysore.

“The Church is marching towards the year of Jubilee 2025. We join it with the motto: “Betharramites, pilgrims of hope.” We too want to join this walk, together with the People of God, who raise their heads, even though they pass through an often gloomy and challenging present.
In memoriam…
On January 12, Mr. Alberto Antonini, brother of Fr. Andrea Antonini SCJ, of the community of “St Michael” of Albavilla (Vicariate of Italy), returned to the house of the Father.
The canonical year in the interregional novitiate "Saint Joseph" is over
22 December 2023 - Despite the difficult situation caused by the war, our novices, thanks be to God, have completed their canonical year of novitiate in Bethlehem.
