First in-person meeting of the Regional Council
From January 19th to 21st, 2024, the St. Miriam Region's Regional Council convened at Shobhana Shaakha in Bangalore, India, marking their first in-person meeting since the recent office appointments. The session started off with Fr. Jean-Dominique Deluge SCJ, our Vicar General, lighting the lamp. Followed by Fr. Wilfred Pereppadan SCJ, the Regional Superior, initiated the council with a reflective narration using the Narratio Fidei method, focusing on the first chapter of the Acts of the General Chapter 2023.
During the gathering, Fr. Jean-Dominique addressed the Council, emphasizing the promotion of a Safeguarding culture for the protection of children and vulnerable adults in the region. He also provided updates on the steps taken concerning the cause of Father Etchecopar.
The Regional Vicars, Fr. Luke Kriangsak SCJ (Regional Vicar in Thailand-Vietnam and First Regional Vicar), Fr. Biju Antony Panthalukkaran SCJ (Regional Vicar in England), and Fr. Vipin Joseph Chirammel SCJ (Regional Vicar in India), formally professed their faith and pledged fidelity before the Regional Superior, officially taking up their roles.
