The “Betharram Sacred Heart Church” was inaugurated in Simaluguri
On the 26th of February, 2024, with immense joy and gratitude, we celebrated the blessed inauguration of our Betharram Sacred Heart Church in Simaluguri, Assam.
Archbishop John Moolachira, whose presence graced us with divine blessings, consecrated the Betharram Sacred Heart Church. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Archbishop of Guwahati, for consecrating the Church, and to our Regional Superior, Fr. Wilfred Pereppadan SCJ, for unveiling the Blessing Stone.
It is the First Church of Betharram Fathers in India, built by Mr Khalil Sholy as a tribute of love, in memory of his mother Mrs Labibe Sholy.
Our special thanks to Mrs. Patricia Pinto of Doha Quatar, who was coordinating in getting us the contribution from Mr Sholy of Quatar. We also recognize the significant contributions of Mrs. Vilma Pais and Mr. Marin Pais, through whom many other donors and well wishers contributed in helping to build our church in completion.
May the divine light of the Sacred Heart illuminate our Vicariate of India.
