Floods in Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai - October 2024. In recent days there have been severe floods in Thailand and Vietnam. Chiang Mai has been particularly affected. The rains were due to a typhoon and continued for a week in all Chiang Mai area. The flooding throughout the city is also due to the large amount of water flown down from the mountains.
Our community "Ban Betharram" in Chiang Mai was affected, as well as the Cathedral and the houses of the local people. The water reached the level of the ground floor of the house near our chapel. Our brothers are alright.
The flooding took place on the very day that Fr. Alberto Pensa SCJ and Fr. Ugo Donini SCJ were leaving for Italy for a holiday period.
