Celebration in Barracas for the 120th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone
The Parishioners of Barracas gathered on Saturday on 16th of March to commemorate the 120th anniversary of its "foundation stone". For this occasion, the celebration of the Holy Eucharist was followed by the fraternal agape with the entire community in mission, lay people and religious.
The celebration was presided over by the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mgr Jorge García Cuerva, who also baptised several adults.
The Bishop of Buenos Aires praised the pastoral work carried out in the Parish in favour of the poorest, and thanked the Congregation for its support in difficult moments in the history of the City.
Some priests, friends of the community, took part in the concelebration: the Superior of the community and Parish Priest Fr. Sebastián García SCJ, Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ, Superior General on a canonical visit to the Vicariate and Fr. Davi Lara SCJ, Regional Superior.
It all ended with a “choriceada" (barbecue) offered by the benefactors of the parish.
