June 29: Solemnity of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul
June 29 was experienced by all the capitulars as an extension of the great thanksgiving that had already begun the day before, when during the Eucharist each religious had shared the fruits of this Chapter. We celebrated with great fervour the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, pillars of the Church, missionaries of the Good News to the Jews and to non-Jews (Gentiles, Pagans).
This Eucharist, presided over by the new priests (Fr. Wijunwayu Peter Phichet scj and Fr. Shaichonsrijinda Mathew Phanupan scj), ordained on June 17 for the Vicariate of Thailand, was attended by all the capitulars, religious of the Vicariate of Thailand , young people in formation, religious friends of Betharram, benefactors of Betharram and alumni (former seminarians of Betharram).
This was followed by the introduction of all those present and by the delivery of gifts as a sign of gratitude.
After the Mass, Mgr. François Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Bishop of Chiang Mai, joined us and we continued the celebration of the “Betharram Family night” in a friendly and warm atmosphere around "a banquet of rich food, a banquet of fine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines”, as the prophet Isaiah would say (Is. 25, 6). An evening of singing and dancing, with the participation of all the nationalities closed our day. Our hearts are still burning within us for all that was experienced these days. Open up! Get up! Let's walk together! Forward, always!
