Feast of St Michael Garicoïts in Ibarre
Starting a new tradition, the betharramites of the Vicariate of France-Spain celebrated Saint Michael Garicoïts in Ibarre (his native village) on the Sunday closest to May 14.
In the morning at 10 am, the faith went in procession to Garacoetchea (Birthplace of Saint Michael Garicoïts) reciting a meditated rosary on some texts of Saint Michael.
The Eucharistic celebration followed, animated by the community of Saint-Palais and the Association of the "Amis de Michel Garicoïts” (“Saint Michael Garicoits’ Friends”).
The Vicariate was represented by Fr. Laurent Bacho SCJ (Regional Vicar in France-Spain), Br. Fulgence SCJ deacon and Br. Jean-Claude Djiraud SCJ.
At the end of the Mass an aperitif was offered in a very convivial atmosphere.
