Bicentenary of the priestly ordination of Saint Michael Garicoïts
To celebrate the bicentenary of the priestly ordination of Saint Michael Garicoïts, on 20 December, a day of reflection, prayer and priestly fraternity took place in Betharram: Betharramites religious from Pau and Anglet (Côte Basque community) gathered together with around twenty priests from two deaneries of the diocese of Bayonne.
The day, organised by Fr. Sylvain Dansou Hounkpatin SCJ, and animated by the reflections of Fr. Laurent Bacho SCJ, gave the opportunity to reflect on the priestly spirituality of Saint Michael Garicoïts, marked by his total availability to carry out the Will of God in union with the Heart of Christ.
The Eucharistic concelebration, which took place in the sanctuary dedicated to Saint Michael Garicoïts, was presided over by the Regional Superior, Fr. Simone Panzeri SCJ.
The afternoon prayer before the relics of Saint Michael Garicoïts wound up the day.
