Visit to the religious sisters of Ban Marina, to the Ursulines of the Regina school, and to the fathers of PIME
In the days spent in Thailand, Father Gustavo and Father Enrico met some religious communities that in various ways collaborate with the Betharramite missionaries.
The Religious Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary: founded in San Sebastián (Spain), in 1926 by Marie-Charlotte Dupouy with the help of Father Hyppolite Paillas, sixth Superior General of the Betharramite Congregation. In Chiang Mai they welcome a group of girls who learn to make clothes.
The Ursulines (of the Roman Union): an International Religious Institute, of pontifical right and perpetual vows, which has inherited the spirituality and charism of St. Angela Merici, who is recognized as First Mother and Foundress (1535). In Chiang Mai they run a school of over 1600 pupils. Fr Thanit SCJ, is their chaplain.
The missionaries of PIME (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, founded in 1850): They recently left the Fan Center to the diocese of Chiang Mai, which in turn entrusted it to the Betharramites. In this Center, some PIME religious continue to support the work of our brothers, especially with scholarships. Fr Gustavo and Fr Enrico visited Fr Raffaele, the manager of the newly built center near Chiang Rai airport.
