Community retreat in the time of Lent
On 6 March the community of the formation house of Adiapodoumé held a day of recollection during this time of Lent.
The retreat began with the night prayer on 5 March and continued with morning prayer on the next day. This was followed by a reflection on the theme: “Forgiven sinners”. The reflection was given by Br. Emmanuel Assanvo SCJ.
Introducing his reflection, Br. Emmanuel invited us to acknowledge our sin, and relying above all on the merciful love of the Father. Br. Emmanuel went on focussing on the following three points:
- God is a merciful Father: the essential characteristic of God is forgiveness,
- Jesus, friend of sinners,
- The sacrament of reconciliation is a bath that renews us and gives us the joy of resuming the journey towards holiness.
The retreat ended with the Eucharistic celebration.
