Advent retreat of the Community
On December 5, an Advent recollection day took place in the formation community of Adiapodoumé. It began the previous day with night prayer and it went on with morning prayer the following day. The theme of the retreat was: “The season of Advent, an itinerary to welcome the Emmanuel, source of our joy”. The day was animated by Br. Christian Yao, scj.
During the reflection, Br. Christian emphasized that the season of Advent is for us a path leading us to receive God (the Emmanuel), the source of our joy. He is the One who takes the initiative to come towards us: “It pleased God to be loved”. This is how God's plan of love for man is revealed in Jesus Christ, the Word Incarnate. This period of personal and community journey must be lived with a proper interior disposition, by renewing our identity as Christians and as Betharramite religious. It must have an impact on our daily life: loving one another as Christ loved us and bearing witness to the joy of Christ towards our brothers in community and towards all our brothers and sisters.
The retreat ended with the Eucharistic celebration where the different groups shared the fruit of their reflection...
