A retreat ... on the way!
The church in Thailand celebrates it's 350th Anniversary of the beginning of the evangelization of the Catholic Mission of Siam. At the same time, the Vicariate of Thailand celebrates it's 68 years of presence in the Asian Country. This celebration is held from 20 till 26 October 2019 & it is led by Rev. Fr. John Chan Kunu SCJ, the Regional Vicar in Thailand. They celebrate it by making the annual retreat by walking in the footsteps of the first missionaries.
Makhampom, Balaa, Pakia, Doingam and Panaseri were the five chosen mountain villages where the Akha ethnic group lives.
Every day they walked to a village. From arrival until evening moments of reflection, prayer and celebration were organized with the inhabitants.
It was a very significant moment not only for every villager but also for the fathers themselves.
