Echoes of the feast of St Michael... from Italy
On Monday 14th May, on the occasion of the St Michael Garicoïts feast day, the "St Michael" community of Albavilla wanted to celebrate some priesthood anniversaries: the 60th anniversary of Fr. Carlo Antonini SCJ, Fr. Angelo Pajno SCJ and Fr. Ermanno Rasero SCJ; the 50th anniversary of Fr. Alessandro Paniga SCJ (Superior of the community); the 45th anniversary of Fr. Piero Trameri SCJ (Regional Vicar in Italy) and Fr. Mario Colombo SCJ and the 30th anniversary of Fr. Emilio Manzolini SCJ.
At the end of his homily, Fr Paniga introduced and shared with the audience Fr. Etchecopar prayer to St Michael:
"Thank you, Father, for everything we owe you.
It was you who initiated us into religious life.
It was you who grouped us with your mission from heaven.
For you we were enrolled under this flag, which carries two hearts with the sublime uniform: Here I am! Ecce venio!
You were our guide, our light, our perfect model, our strength and our consolation.
Oh Father carry on! Let us be your imitators, as you were of Jesus Christ.
Protect all those whom Jesus has given you.
Defend your work, the same work of Jesus and Mary.
Let us be holy and perfect!".
