On March 24th, on the 38th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mgr Romero, Archbishop of El Salvador, Dr. Pilar Silveira, parishioner of Paso de los Toros (parish entrusted to our Congregation), gave an emotional speech about the figure and the writings of this Archbishop who died as a Martyr, and who will be canonized soon.
Since the day of his martyrdom, the people have invoked him as "San Romero of America". The meeting, which took place in one of the chapels of our parish, saw a large participation of people. Dr. Pilar illustrated, with the help of texts written by Mgr Romero, the figure of Mary, mother and model for the women.
Also on this subject, Archbishop Romero was a prophet.
On March 25th, Palm Sunday, besides the liturgical celebration, Fr. Alcides scj led a prayer session, the first of a series of three sessions on the Easter Triduum.
The participation was very positive and the atmosphere very prayerful.. Fr Alcides invited to pray by contemplating the mystery of Holy Thursday, the washing of the feet, and by using the Ignatian method of prayer and contemplation.
