A good habit
In Ciudad del Este, the youth of the Betharramite Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus organised, a prayer vigil which began with the Eucharistic celebration. Then the vigil continued in the sports centre with cultural and social events. About 300 young people spent the night in prayer imitating the Early Church. The youth who animated the vigil are part of the Youth Ministry Group of the Parish. The young people preparing for the Confirmation also joined in this event, where many songs of praise and catechesis recalled the Pentecost feast.
This beautiful experience ended at dawn with the Eucharist celebration. Religious events such as these vigils are deeply rooted in the Church of Paraguay, particularly in Ciudad del Este. It is a good opportunity to evangelise and create good habits to foster evangelical values.
This vigil was a deep spiritual experience and it was a good opportunity to launch the Youth Triennium.
Fr Fulgencio Ferreira Ríos scj adds: "Sharing with the young people helped me to discover in them the future of the Church. Their hearts have not yet been spoiled by the corruption that exists in the society. Young people are a fertile soil, in which we find the opportunity to spread the Gospel and we are called to encourage them to be generous in listening to and responding to the call of the Lord."
