Blessing of the new church of the village built after the earthquake
Sunday, April 10 - this date will be remembered by the Village of Ban Mai Jadsan (Chiang Rai province - Thailand) for the celebration held on the occasion of the blessing of the new Church, built after the earthquake that hit the country in July 2014.
The earthquake had in fact damaged some houses and the Church of the village, which was condemned by the local authorities.
Mgr. Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Bishop of the Diocese of Chiang Mai, presided over the celebration, assisted by Fr Alberto Pensa SCJ, Fr Paolo Subancha SCJ and Fr Chan Kunu SCJ.
The day began with the arrival of the bishop, welcomed by the village people and visitors come in large numbers from other villages. The bishop was then accompanied to the new Church.
After the blessing of the grotto and the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Bishop consecrated the new church and the celebrated the Holy Eucharist.
At the end of the blessing, the village people celebrated this joyful event.
