“Rice harvest day” among the Karen People

Apart from the people of the village who organized the event, many people from the surrounding villages joined in; among them  boys and girls living in the Betharramite mission of Maepon, led by Fr Suthon SCJ and Fr Athit SCJ.

The aim of this event is not only  to collect rice and money to be distributed to the needy, but also to keep alive the culture of mutual aid, of self-reliance, of "the care of natural resources and environment, which is our common home.”

The days were marked by moments of joy and celebration, with songs and dances and moments of reflection, with prayer sessions and the Eucharistic celebration.
