Weekend of the Fraternity "Me Voici" at Betharram
The weekend of the Fraternity "Me Voici" started Saturday, July 25 with a Mass presided by Fr. Tobia Sosio SCJ, who, the previous week, had guided the spiritual exercises of the religious of the Vicariate.
The weekend was extended with a talk on the Psalms given by Fr Philippe Hourcade SCJ. Saturday afternoon, Fr Tobia talked about the Betharramite life in the Vicariate of Paraguay and made a report on the visit of the Pope. He then highlighted the active role played by the laity in the pastoral activity of colleges and parishes. He illustrated the beautiful reality of eleven community of young people belonging to the "FVD" movement and the initiatives towards the children.
Then the audience split into three groups for a "lectio divina" on one Letter of St. Michael (n 343). This gave everybody an opportunity to share the life of the Fraternity.
Later on the Way of the Cross was conducted along the chapels of the Calvary and a celebration of the “Here I am” in the Chapel of the Resurrection allowed everyone to renew their commitment for the new year. A picnic ended the evening in front of the Chapel of the Resurrection.
Sunday, July 26 a prayer session was conducted in the oratory of the room of St Michael Garicoits. Then there was a talk on the theme of next year, "Bearing fruit in the footsteps of the merciful Jesus." This theme was inspired by the pilgrimage to the Holy Land which will take place from 9 to 19 March 2016, organized by the "Fraternity" and guided by Fr Philippe Hourcade SCJ.
Finally the Coordination Group of the Fraternity was formed: Michèle (Pibrac), Chantal (Saint-André de Cubzac), Dominique (Limoges). The religious in-charge is Fr Laurent Bacho SCJ.
The assembly stressed the importance of the bulletin "Fraternel" as a link between the different groups throughout the year. The weekend ended with a Mass celebrated in the sanctuary "Our Lady of Betharram” and presided by Fr Michel Vignau SCJ. All appreciated the presence of Fr Firmin Bourguinat SCJ who was in Betharram for a short break.
