Pau celebrates Saint Mary of Jesus Crucified (3)
On May 23, in Pau, at 5.30 pm (in the Parish of St. Teresa) there was a solemn Mass presided by Msgr. Marc Aillet (Bishop of Bayonne, Lescar and Oloron) and concelebrated by Msgr. Robert Sarrabère, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Aire and Dax and by Msgr Jacques Danka Longa, Bishop of the Diocese of Kara (Togo), from which comes a priest who is temporarily residing in Pau.
There were also many Betharramite and diocesan priests. The presence of Msgr Dupleix, emeritus Deputy Secretary-General of the French Episcopal Conference and honorary rector of the Catholic Institute of Toulouse did not go unnoticed. A French delegation of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem was also present. The church was packed and many faithful had to attend the celebration standing up.
Eric Saint-Marc, the organist, played the music and the songs of the Mass which he composed specifically for the canonization of Sr. Mary of Jesus Crucified; this mass was sung by the Small Choir "St Michael Garicoits", the same choir that every second Tuesday
of the month, in the chapel of the Carmel, animates the Mass in honor of the Holy Spirit.
It was Sr Mary’s desire that this mass be celebrate every month.
