"Open doors" to discover the consecrated life
Pau, October 11 - In his apostolic letter on the occasion of the Year of Consecrated Life, Pope Francis asked the religious to make their consecrated life more visible.
The Diocesan Council of the Diocese of Bayonne, Lescar and Oloron, whose Delegate for Consecrated Life is Fr Laurent Bacho SCJ, organized in "St. Ursula” College, Pau, a day with “open doors” to the faithful willing to better understand the reality of consecrated life and religious families in the area.
Fifteen religious congregations joined the initiative. They prepared and displayed some posters. The religious of Betharram also played an active role.
Father Jean Paul Kissi SCJ and Father Gabriel Pornchai SCJ, with Br Emile Garat SCJ prepared and displayed a poster presenting the Congregation. Fr Laurent and two sisters of the “Good Shepherd” shared their personal experience as religious with a group of adults.
Father Philippe Hourcade SCJ guided a workshop for high school students and Fr Pornchai for college students.
The day ended with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Vicar General of the Diocese, Fr. François Bisch.
