Youth in mission at Tacuarembó (Uruguay)
The itinerant missionary community, formed by Fathers Angelo Recalcati, Wagner Ferreira and Brother Victor Torales, is experiencing a real "Kairos", a time of grace, in which community life and mission walk side by side...
Brother Victor Torales writes: "This new insertion is beginning to bear its first fruits in the two missions entrusted to the community: the College of the Immaculate Conception (known as " Los Vascos ") of Montevideo and the community of the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima in the "Barrio Lopez" at Tacuarembó.
On the days 17-19 October, the "Jube Vascos" (betharramite Youth) made their first mission experience, traveling for 400 km to live and to share the joy of living with others the charism of Saint Michael Garicoits. For this reason, the theme of the mission with the youth from "Barrio Lopez" was : "Have the courage to live the joy of the mission."
Group dynamics, games, movies, visiting different districts, missionary rosary, Eucharistic adoration, bonfire and celebration of Mass with the community were the key moments of this mission. The goals of the mission were as follows: coexistence, integration and exchanging experiences of the two different realities of the Uruguayan society.
The mission was a success, thanks to the great job done by the team in charge of the Pastoral Ministry in the College and to the support given by the Community of the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima."
