Welcome and veneration of the relics of St. Michael Garicoïts at Cambo
On days 8 and 9 February , as part of the Jubilee Year in honor of St. Michael Garicoïts , the Parish "St. Michael Garicoïts " Cambo les Bains ( France) , welcomed the relics of our Father and Founder.
In the parish of Cambo les Bains , the young Father Michael Garicoïts had been sent as an assistant parish priest (January 1824) after his ordination ( on 20 December 1823) . He remained there until the end of 1825, when the Bishop moved him into the seminary of Betharram , where he spent the rest of his life.
The parish of Cambo by introducing once again to all the faithful ( young and old ) the figure of its saint assistant parish priest ( who is now theirPatron Saint ) intended to spread his example and his spirituality.
The days were animated by Fr Beñat Oyhénart SCJ and Fr Pornchai Sukjai SCJ through talks, Eucharistic celebrations , prayer meetings. All were able to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the figure of St. Michael.
