The Superior General in Vietnam!
August 7, the Superior General, Fr Gaspar Fernandez Perez SCJ, is on a visit to Vietnam, accompanied by Father Xavier Le Van Cuong, a Vietnamese priest who is studying in Rome and lives in our community "Our Lady of Miracles."
In the few days in Hue (which is located in the center of Vietnam), in the mother house of the Congregation of Fr Xavier, Fr Gaspar could realize how the seminaries and formation houses are full of young people. He also met a priest who is 74 years old and he spent ten years in prison. He is the parish priest of Father Xavier’s parish. Here there is also a religious community composed of five sisters who, with the help of the parish Priest, give accommodation to pregnant young women rejected by their families and the society, and support them and encourage them to keep and grow their babies.
On 14 and 15 August they will participate in the national pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of La Vang. where 500,000 pilgrims are expected.
It will be an opportunity to pray with them so that the Virgin Mary may bless the project of a Betharramite foundation in Vietnam.
