Rite of "Ordination of the Forest"
On the 30th of August, Fr John Chokdi SCJ, Betharramite parish priest of the district of Huay Tong, with the faithful of the parish and a group of young people from Luxembourg led by their priest, took part, along with the Buddhists, in the ceremony of the "Ordination of the forest”.
The monks performed a ritual with their traditional prayers, while the Catholics celebrated the Eucharist. Among the young people there were even three Princes.
After the religious ceremony, the monks wrapped up some trees in an orange cloth, while Catholics put up a cross, in order to express the desire of every believer to take care of creation.
