Ordination of a "missionary" Deacon
Sunday, February 9, in the city of General Carneiro (Sabara) Br Davi Aparecido da Silva Lara SCJ, was ordained as a deacon by the laying on of hands of the Auxiliary Bishop of Belo Horizonte, Dom Joao Justino de Medeiros Silva.
The Mother- Church was filled with parishioners who had known Br Davi for two years (in this parish Fr Davi did his ministry in preparation for perpetual vows), and with many Betharramites from all communities of the Vicariate of Brazil. The land in Latin America continues to be blessed by God's love, and by the heat of ... “the loving and fruitful Brazilian summer".
On February 24, the newly-ordained deacon will board on his “winged Etincelle" and fly to Mendelu, the community where the Superior general called him to be a missionary for three years.
