From the Synod on the Family to Montemurlo
On their return from Rome, where they were welcomed by the bishops gathered in Rome for the Synod on the family called by Pope Francis on October 5 to 19, the relics of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus and of her parents, Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin, stopped over at Montemurlo in the betharramite Parish.
Sunday, October 19, at 15.00, the betharramite Parish of Montemurlo welcomed the relics of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus and of her parents, Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin.
Pope Francis wanted them to be in Rome on the occasion of the the Synod on the Family. On their return journey to France, they made a stop over in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Montemurlo. For one hour, the faithful gathered around this "holy family" to pray, according to the wish of the Holy Father, for all the families in the world to mark the end of the Synod. The parish priest, Fr Maurizio Vismara SCJ, led the prayer service in the Parish church that for this occasion was packed with people coming from different parishes of Tuscany. After paying homage to the sacred relics, each family was given a candle to bring back home in order to continue the prayer in their daily life.
