Feast day of the Presentation of the Lord with Pope Francis
On 2nd of February 2014, on the Feast day of the Presentation of the Lord and Feast day for all the consecrated Persons, representing our Congregation with our Superior General Fr. Gasper Fernandez, we have been humbly privileged to partake in the Candlemas ceremony and concelebrate with Pope Francis to mark the joyous occasion of the feast at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
There were hundreds of religious priests and nuns represented their own congregation on this day. On 18th world day of Consecrated life, Pope Francis stated the fact in His homily that at the centre of consecrated life there is always Jesus. Jesus is the centre of our religious life because He calls us to pray and worship in the Church where we can meet Him, know Him, give welcome to Him and embrace Him. Jesus comes to us in the Church through the charism of a congregation. Pope happily expressed that it is nice to reflect on our vocation and calling in this way! This profound encounter with Christ reflects and shapes the Church through the charism of an institute. This witness of a charism of a consecrated person in the church makes us always amaze us and makes us give thanks.
