Blessing of a new chapel in two Betharramite parishes
May 8 - Fr Peter Chaiyot SCJ, Parish Priest of Huaytong, gathered his parishioners for the blessing of the new church, dedicated to Saint Joseph.
The blessing took place during a Mass celebrated by Bishop Francis Xavier Veera Arpondratana, bishop of Chiang Mai. The church’s construction was sponsored by Mr.Sathien Boonanuntabood and Mr Suwanna chinthana Siri, belonging to two Catholic families from Bangkok.
In a similar way in the Parish of Maetaeng the next day, May 9, Fr Mathew Chanchai SCJ, Parish Priest of Maetang, organized a religious service for the blessing of a new church, dedicated to St. Joseph. On this occasion too the Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Francis Xavier Veera Arpondratana, bishop of Chiang Mai. The church’s construction was sponsored by Miss Sunanthan Pimchanya, belonging to a Catholic family from Bangkok.
