Like every year, the parish of San Mixel Garikoitz entrusted to the community Betharramite at Hondarribia went into action to celebrate Christmas.
The mechanical crib was activated again to the delight of young and old. On 25 December, the nativity scene was animated by the songs of children, the wailing of the little baby Jesus and the bleating of sheep - without creating any problems to Fr José Gogorza, the parish priest of the place, who presided over the celebration! For this Christmas, the church, which suffered an arson attack last June and was recently whitewashed, resumed its colours. For this purpose, the Parish appealed to the Municipality to step in and help cover the expenses (. 45.000).
Other noteworthy events of this blessed day are: the opening of the website of the parish www.parrokiabetharram.com, considered by the Pastoral Committee of the parish a tool for a better communication, in order to make people feel closer and make them more aware that "together we are the Church."
