On June 21-23 : one important event in honour of Saint Michael was celebrated in Rome, in the context of the Jubilee Year.
It began on June 21 with a prayer vigil led by the "Petit Choeur Saint Michel” who came to Rome from Pau for the occasion.
Saturday, June 22: official opening of a photographic exhibition on the Sanctuary of Betharram, mounted by Jean-Jacques Stokli. This was introduced by a reflection given by Fr Francesco Radaelli SCJ, who spoke about the meaning of Betharram for the experience of Saint Michael.
A large group of lay people from the “Betharramite” parish of the Sacred Heart of Montemurlo (Prato) took part in this event.
The climax of these three days was the solemn concelebration in the Church Saint Louis des Français, presided over by Mons Robert Legall, Archbishop of Toulouse, who happened to be in Rome and wanted to share this important celebration with us.
Fr Gaspar Fernandez Perez, the Superior General, Mons François Bousquet, the Rector of St Louis des Français, Fr Jean-Luc Morin (Regional Superior), Fr Aldo Nespoli (Regional Vicar for Italy) and many other Betharramite religious and priests were also present.
Once again, the melodies of the "Petit Choeur Saint Michel" - purposely composed for this occasion - filled the beautiful church located in the heart of Rome and led the thanksgiving prayer for the gift of Saint Michael to the Church.
And now ... the celebration goes on in Rio with the World Youth Day!
