Ivory Coast - Yamoussoukro
Sunday, February 24, the parish community of Saint Felix in Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast) celebrated its patron saint. On this occasion a Parish Assembly was held and the topic was: "Jubilee of the Parish of Saint Felix and its projects.
The aim is, firstly, to generate greater dedication to the Lord by strengthening the faith and, secondly, to build the young parish in its first five years of existence.
In fact, we want to awaken the fervour and the zeal of the parishioners to follow Christ and to tap the resources in view of building the parish church. This assembly is made up of four commissions with 4 themes: History; Pastoral Ministry and Evangelisation; Liturgy (as action of the people); self-sufficiency.
This jubilee (celebrating the first 5 years of the foundation of the Parish), will end June 24, 2013.
Fr Jean-Luc Morin, Regional Superior, who was visiting the community of Yamoussoukro, joined the celebration. It was for him a privilege to preside over the Eucharistic celebration which was broadcast live on "Radio Maria Yamoussoukro."
