On Wednesday, August 7, a solemn celebration was held in the archdiocese of Buenos Aires: thousands of faithful flocked to the shrine of Saint Cajetan to ask for bread and work, to express gratitude for the graces received and to fulfil their promises.
Complying to what Pope Francis had said on the WYD, a group of young people from the Sacred Heart College of Barracas and from the neighboring parish of Saint Lucia, joined the crowd and helped the faithful to write down intentions, to lead the prayer, to serve a “mate” (very popular local beverage) with a piece of bread.
The climax was the presence of the image of the Our Lady of Luján (patron saint of Argentina) that Pope Francis had blessed the week before on the WYD in the cathedral of Rio de Janeiro when he had met with the pilgrims coming from Argentina.
The event itself was a real blessing!
