Caring for people and fighting AIDS
On December 1st, the World AIDS Day, the Association “IL MOSAICO”, that has been caring for AIDS patients for twenty years through different humanitarian initiatives at various levels, organised a meeting in the Church Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Rome, in order to make people more and more aware of this particular issue.
This Association, in cooperation with the Betharram Fathers and Brothers, supports the foster home of Villa del Pino at Monteporzio Catone. This home welcomes AIDS patients who have no other support whatsoever to rely on.
Fr Mario Longoni, the director of Villa del Pino, played host and he invited Mons Matteo Zuppi, Auxiliary Bishop of the Rome Diocese, Mons Enrico Feroci, Director of Caritas and Fr Gaspar Fernandez, Superior General of the Betharram Congregation. All stressed how selflessly many religious men and women are fighting AIDS on the front line.
The choral group “La Tuscolana” performed a rich and inspiring repertoire that helped the audience to live this event as an experience of prayer.
